Pediatrics Norms for Visual Contrast Sensitivity Using an APT VCS Tester

Scott W. McMahon, Konnor A. Kundomal, Sanjay Yangalasetty2017Medical Research ArchivesJournal Article

Abstract

The study examined visual contrast sensitivity testing in pediatric populations using an APT device. Researchers evaluated 127 children at a wellness clinic and established reference standards. Mean scores for left eyes across age groups ranged from 7.8 to 8.2 out of 9 possible points. No meaningful differences emerged between boys and girls, or between children with and without asthma. The findings provide pediatric baseline measurements for contrast sensitivity assessment.
